Yesterday it was announced that the Camp for Climate Action will target Drax, the largest power station in Europe and the single largest emiter of carbon dioxide in the UK.

A four day gathering for activists near Tonbridge in Kent. Loads of workshops, acitivities, socialising, etc. Marquees, a healing area, a football tournament, vegan refreshments, showers, camping. And it's completely free (donations needed!). http://www.ar2006.info/index.html

today local people showed their opposition to green belt development.

Sharphill woods in west Bridgford Nottingham is scheduled for 1200 houses to be built on the land around them, thanks to the local conservative council, who plan to make a packet out of the deal as does the land owner Mr Wells.

The campaign to save Sharp Hill is stepping up this weekend with live music and a fresh call for support.

A group of activists - with strong support from the community - have been camping at the site near Edwalton for two weeks in protest against Rushcliffe Borough Council's plan to build 1200 houses.
