Birmingham Critical Mass on Friday!
Critical Mass is an event held in cities around the world, where cyclists, skateboarders, roller bladers, roller skaters and other self-propelled people take to the streets en masse. Critical Mass is not led, and as a group has no goals other than to meet once every month and enjoy the security and companionship of riding, rolling and travelling through the city together. The general philosophy is expressed by a widely used slogan: "We aren't blocking traffic; we are traffic."

Sharphill woods in west Bridgford Nottingham is scheduled for 1200 houses to be built on the land around them, thanks to the local conservative council, who plan to make a packet out of the deal as does the land owner Mr Wells.

Action stepped up at Sharp Hill

The campaign to save Sharp Hill is stepping up this weekend with live music and a fresh call for support.
A group of activists - with strong support from the community - have been camping at the site near Edwalton for two weeks in protest against Rushcliffe Borough Council's plan to build 1200 houses.
