Anarchist prisoner James Borek is scheduled to be released today after spending more than two years in prison for his participation in a 1999 London Reclaim the Streets sponsored Carnival Against Capitalism protest.

BACKGROUND - In Rossport, County Mayo, residents & supporters continue to obstruct the building of a dangerous gas pipeline. Last year five men from Rossport were jailed for contempt of court for refusing to obey the High Court order not to interfere with the construction of the Corrib gas pipeline. Yesterday they were expected to be back at the High Court, potentially facing more time in jail.

Tree Protest Camp established at Shepton Mallet, Somerset. People needed

A Tree Protest Camp has been established at Shepton Mallet in Somerset. Its aim is to protect 300 to 400 mature decsidious trees from being felled to make way for a new TESCO store. There is strong local support for the camp. People are needed to help out at the camp. A war memorial is also set to be relocated for the store.

The fifth Big Blether will take place from Friday 5th - Sunday 7th May 2006 at Laurieston Hall, Dumfries. Laurieston Hall is a housing co-operative situated 7 miles from Castle Douglas. The Big Blether is Scotland's biggest activist gathering and takes place every 2 years in Scotland.

Impregilo demo'd over Iceland Dam

This morning, activists visited the offices of Impregilo New Cross Ltd, part of the company which is building the controversial Karahnjukar Dam in Iceland.

The five campaigners turned up at 85e Centurion Court, Milton Park outside of Abingdon with banners, leaflets & drums. Wandering in to the first floor open plan office, they proceeded to speak to all the employees, including the senior management. One person met with the finance director of the company who promised to scan the leaflet i and send it to their head office in Italy.

On Saturday, a group of cyclists pissed off with the ever increasing amount of dirty, dangerous and downright ridiculous 4x4s which are accelerating climate Armageddon took to their bikes and donned skeleton outfits to shame 4x4 drivers.

Camp now in it's 24th Year, and in dire need of a breath of life.

The camp has 2/3 full time residents at present, with limited visitors. Granted it's a quiet time of year. But the camp has been in decline for a few years now. Those of us who stay at the camp are trying everything we can to get it back on track.
