Call Out: OpposeThe EDL In Birmingham 29th Oct

The EDL are to hold a demo in Victoria square, Birmingham on 29th October 12:00 - 18:00. Victoria Square is also the location of the Occupy Birmingham protest camp which could become a target for the EDL. This is a call out for people to come to Victoria Square on the 29th and defend the Occupy Birmingham camp and defend the city from the EDL.

Site evicted at Huntingdon Lane

Campaigners were this afternoon evicted from the site of a massive new mine in Telford after defying UK Coal bosses for 18 months.

An eviction team working on behalf of the company was sent onto the site in Huntington Lane, Little Wenlock, this morning to remove the protesters and destroy their camp.

Huntington Lane court papers served – Eviction Imminent

The camp site has been served a court notice earlier today with summons for a hearing on the 15th of July – this Friday.

Countering the GM come back summer camp

Bring your stove and tent for an anti-GM weekend. Fri 22nd pm: Camping available. Sat 23rd: Delivering a trailer load of organic spuds to the doors of the John Innes Centre in protest at GM potato trials there. Activists temporarily halt work at Huntington Lane

On Tuesday 5th July activists from the Telford no new coal (aka Defend Huntington Lane) protest site halted early morning operations by storming the open cast mine. Two protesters dead locked on to heavy plant machinery, disrupting the destruction caused by them. Activists have been on the site for 15 months and are awaiting eviction papers.
